An immensely talented Right-hand batsman, Afaq Raheem began his first-class career with Rawalpindi in 2003-04 as an 18 year old. A steady performer in the domestic circuit, passing the 500 mark in 6 seasons. His career was disrupted by a knee injury which cost him nearly two seasons, starting June 2009, however on his full return in the 2011-12 season, he dominated the domestic scene, scoring 1420 and earning a call up to the PCB XI to play against England in January 2012 in the UAE.
A classy opener and capable off-spinner, Afaq has spent time in the UK previously with back-to-back stints with Rotherham Town CC in 05-06 and a part-season with Pudsey Congs CC in 2007. After seeking his first season in the UK for 10 years in 2017, Afaq joined Driffield Town CC in the ECB Yorkshire North League, producing 879 runs @ 46.26.
A heavy scorer in the top order and an occasional off-spinner and now ECB Level 2 coach, Afaq will be a good pick up for the 2018 summer for a club seeking a gun top order batsman.
